BMI The Alexandra Hospital - providing quality care for 35 years - BMI The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is the flagship hospital of BMI Healthcare, Britain’s largest provider of independent healthcare. Manchester Metropolitan University - Manchester Met are a proud patron of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, working with students to help them start-up a business and with business owners to help them grow. In the last five years, we have supported over 2,000 business owners to grow their firms, many achieving growth between 28-48% in the first 18 months after the programme. We offer accredited professional qualifications inspired by industry practice, free masterclasses from entrepreneurs once a month and fully-funded business support programmes for SMEs looking to grow. TransPennine Express - TransPennine Express (TPE) is an operator of intercity train services linking key cities and major towns in the North and Scotland. It runs around 238 services daily on weekdays and almost as many at weekends, and serves 83 stations of which 19 are directly managed by TPE. The train operator carries on average 61,000 customers every day with around 60% of those being leisure travellers. Last year TPE carried 29m customers.

TPE's vision is to take the north further. It has a vital role in connecting the North to make it greater than it’s ever been, bringing people, businesses and cities closer together and helping the economy grow.

Sarah Cunningham, TransPennine Express: “We’re delighted to join Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce as a patron at the start of our new franchise, which will see a complete overhaul of train travel in the North and Scotland. We are investing more than £500m in transforming the offer that we make to our customers.

“We are introducing a total of 44 brand new state-of-the-art trains which will mean more seating, reliability, and will more than double our capacity. A number of these trains will be built in the North and will have the capability to run at speeds of 125mph, reducing journey times and bringing our great towns and cities in the North closer together.

Emirates - Emirates currently offers three daily flights between Dubai and Manchester, two of which are now operated by A380s and the third by a Boeing 777.

The A380 has been very popular with Manchester passengers. With eight daily A380 flights into the UK and an ever expanding global A380 network, Emirates continues to set the industry benchmark in A380 connectivity.

In addition Emirates airline will operate six services a day from Heathrow, three daily from London Gatwick and Birmingham, two per day from Glasgow and a daily service from Newcastle. In Dubai, passengers can connect to flights to Emirates’ global network which spans 149 destinations across six continents in 80 countries.


Alstom - In the UK, Alstom is active in the rail, power and electricity transmission sectors, operates from 30 sites and employs more than 6,500 people across the country. Around a third of all rail journeys in the UK are made on Alstom rolling stock, its generating kit powers half of the UK’s power stations, it is testing new tidal turbine technology in waters off Orkney, and it operates the only large-scale transformer manufacturing facility in the UK. Alstom's sites in Stafford and Rugby have been at the forefront of engineering developments since the 19th-century and continue to produce cutting edge technology for projects across the world.

The Hallé - Now entering its 157th season, the Hallé ranks among the UK’s top symphonic ensembles. Founded by Sir Charles Hallé in Manchester, the Hallé gave its first concert in the Free Trade Hall on 30 January 1858. Sir Mark Elder became Music Director in 2000. The Hallé has a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in this country and around the world and now performs over 70 concerts a year in The Bridgewater Hall, its Manchester home; over 40 concerts annually throughout the rest of Britain; international tours; broadcasts and televised performances. In 2013, the Hallé’s new rehearsal, recording and small concert space, Hallé St Peter’s, was opened by the Hallé’s Patron, HRH The Countess of Wessex. A restored church in Ancoats, the venue provides a home for the Hallé, its choirs and youth orchestra as well as an exciting space for education workshops. Last season over a quarter of a million people heard the Hallé, of which more than 44,000 were inspired by the Hallé’s pioneering education programme. Generating over 65 projects a year, it exists to create a wider enjoyment and understanding of music throughout the whole community. The Hallé remains determined to seek ways to enhance and refresh what it undertakes. It aspires to provide artistic leadership through performance standards, artistic understanding and education and training, working with partners in Manchester and beyond.
