Action For Business

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is the largest and most influential Chamber in the UK and is the recognised voice of business in Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s focus is to secure the best climate for businesses in Greater Manchester to grow and prosper.

This will be achieved by the Chamber:

  • removing obstacles and promoting opportunities for Greater Manchester’s businesses to grow, whilst supporting the society in which they operate;

  • lobbying for members against any adverse impacts of new legislation or initiatives that affect a business unfairly due to its size, sector or location;

  • working for members to ensure that the structures within Greater Manchester – the Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership – are fully engaged with the business community and are aware of what is required for business growth.

Like the rest of the United Kingdom, Greater Manchester needs private sector growth. A strong private sector creates employment, wealth, wellbeing and confident communities; Action for Business is our way of achieving this. It is more than just a document or a wishlist. It is a constantly evolving series of activities identified by, and delivered with, our members to ensure that local businesses grow and thrive. Working closely with all of our member-led Councils and Committees, the Chamber is constantly looking for input and expertise to make our aims a reality for the business community in Greater Manchester.

Below are the five themes under which we deliver Action for Business with clearly stated objectives and updates on our most recent work.
