What we offer

A range of courses to support the continuous improvement of high quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).

Diploma in Career Education

The Diploma is delivered in partnership with Nottingham Trent University with the overall aim of developing a clear understanding of what Career Education should be provided to young people. The qualification can be completed within 12-18 months and has a strong link to practice which helps to ensure it remains current, relevant and responsive to local needs.

Essential Guides

A series of half day courses to provide staff with an underpinning knowledge of CEIAG.The courses are practical and widely applicable. Subjects covered include Supporting Vulnerable Young People; Working with Partners; Careers Education in a Policy Context; Involving Young People and Parents; Special Educational Needs (SEN); and Delivering Careers Education in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

Young People and Decision Making

The Young People and Decision Making (YPDM) sessions focus on how to support young people with their career planning. This course has been beneficial to staff in working with young people in schools, colleges, the voluntary sector, children’s homes; and to parents and governors. Content includes an introduction to CEIAG, sources of support, and the skills and techniques required to support the decision making process.

Careers and Labour Market Information

We deliver training on the use of resources including e-guidance programs, and how to manage and organise the provision of careers information. A library monitor award for young people is also available. Labour Market Information (LMI) sessions highlight key trends locally, regionally and nationally, and look at how the information gained can support practice.
