Get Involved - Talking Points

Welcome to Talking Points.

Every month, I’ll put a series of issues up here that I want your views, thoughts and comments on, to help spark debate and get a sense of what matters to you, to help guide our activity in the future.

It isn’t about being controversial or political, but a way to ensure that we can continue to make sure we represent the views of our members and businesses and can identify upcoming issues before they have a major impact on business.

We’ll be using social media channels, the Chamber’s Brief and also looking out for suitable articles and pieces that we can use to help spread the word (with prior agreement of course!) Look out for new-style events too that will pick up on what you tell us about – especially those issues that are the real headline makers!

It’s a new way of getting to what matters quickly and looking at what action needs taking - all driven by you.

This month I’m really interested to hear from you on either of the following:

1) I’m keen to hear about what the biggest issues facing you and your business locally are, and what would you like to see happen? It could be transport issues, skills, regeneration and development plans, basically anything that impacts now on your business, but could be solved in the future.

2) There has been a recent focus once more on the government’s headline policy of ‘Levelling Up’. I’m really keen to hear from you on what 'levelling up' means to you and what you want the government to do.

Drop me an e-mail at, put in the subject title either 'Talking Points Local' or 'Talking Points Levelling Up'.
