We are delighted to announce our next Trade Forum will take place on the 30th of January. The event will be sponsored by our Strategic Partners, Credit Risk Solutions and will be centred around the theme "Brexit Uncertainty: Risk and Planning for 2019".
In the UK, around 40% of companies offer credit terms to their customers. Credit terms attract customers who want to buy but don’t want to face the risk of paying up front before receiving goods or a service. This gives companies on both sides assurance that the transaction will be completed.
But with Brexit on the horizon, financial security for businesses is more important than ever. Credit can often end up causing problems for those that need to get paid. On the 29th of March, the last thing companies need are queues of delayed payments in addition to a climate of risk and uncertainty. Credit insurance can reduce a large part of this risk and can protect businesses from commercial and political issues.
This Trade Forum will aim to properly advise companies on how to secure themselves against such problems and will provide a great opportunity for businesses to prepare for the changes 2019 will bring.
WHAT WILL THE SPEAKERS DISCUSS?
Amy Cawley will give an overview of methods of payment and the risks that businesses can potentially face. Amy will also be on hand to discuss other ways the Chamber can help businesses to succeed on their international trade journey.
Mark Whiteley will be talking about Chamber Credit Insurance run in partnership with Credit Risk Solutions. Mark will be discussing how businesses can grow into new markets with minimal risk and how better credit terms can make UK companies more competitive in global markets.
