This is a one day interactive training course which runs from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) is an accreditation issued by HMRC to importers, exporters, customs agents and others involved in the international supply chain. AEO Status recognizes that the business is compliant in its customs activities and can be trusted to operate simplified customs procedures and duty relief schemes. It has become much more relevant with the changes introduced by the Union Customs Code (UCC) in 2016 and the vote to leave the EU. It is anticipated that customs will offer greater simplifications to AEO status holders in order to mitigate the potential effects on border checks and customs requirements post Brexit.
You will learn about the requirements for achieving AEO status both in Customs Compliance and Supply Chain Security and the potential implications of not holding AEO status and how this may affect your business. The course will cover the full benefits of holding AEO status the application process  and the interaction with other trading nations who operate similar schemes under the Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).

Learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the AEO programme, it's background and the law.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the types of AEO status available
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the AEO application process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to maintain the AEO status going forward

Who should attend:

This AEO training course will suit anyone involved in importing and exporting goods.
