Rochdale Sixth Form College holds progression days every year for its Year 12 students, so we invite around 40 representatives from organisations to mock interview our students.
The feedback from the students is that it’s really beneficial for them to be put in this situation and it really helps with their confidence.
Although the college has some students that have part time jobs, for some students this is their first experience of an interview.
The college has around 800 students in Year 12 so it covers two days. This year they take place on the 9th and 10th July, interviews will last for about 10-15 minutes.
The day runs from 9.15am- 2.45pm with breakfast, lunch and refreshments provided. The employers don’t need to prepare anything, they will be given a pack on the day and the interview questions can be sent out a few weeks before the event.
Each day of mock interviews runs as follows:
9.15am- 9.45am: Visitor arrival, briefing with breakfast provided.
10am -11.15am: Mock Interviews start. Each student will receive a 15-minute interview with feedback. RSFC will provide the interview questions, which will be mainly competency based. These will be emailed to the employer contact approximately 2 weeks before the mock interview day.
11.15am – 12.30pm: Mock interviews
12.30pm – 1.30pm: Lunch provided
1.30pm – 2.45pm: Mock interviews
