ATA Carnets

ATA Carnets facilitate the temporary exportation of goods for up to 12 months; acting as a ‘passport’ presented at each customs post, this enables the temporary exportation of goods without having to lodge duties on deposit with overseas customs. Countries that accept an ATA Carnet include:

  • Americas: Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico, USA

  • Africa and the Middle East: Algeria, Bahrain, Ivory Coast, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Madagascar, Maritius, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, UAE

  • Asia & Pacific: Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand

  • Other European Countries: Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gibraltar, Iceland, Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenagro, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine

There are three categories of ATA Carnets

  1. International trade fairs and exhibitions

  2. Commercial Samples

  3. Professional equipment

Please note that not every country has signed up to the three categories, please see application form for exclusions.

ATA Carnet applications can be processed electronically via our e-z cert on-line platform or manually by requesting the application forms from the Chamber.
