Brexit Compliance Audit

The UK left the EU on the 31st January 2020, entering on a transition period due to end on the 31st December 2020.   During this period there is no changes to the way we have been trading.

Whilst the EU and UK have reached, in principle, a Withdrawal Agreement, please note that with or without a deal, the way we trade with the EU will change irrevocably from 1st January 2021, going from full trade to full customs procedures, duties and VAT, as the UK will effectively be out of the EU Customs Union.

Greater Manchester Chamber has been providing information and advice to help companies prepare, including our Brexit Hub, full of useful information, preparation guides, tools and more to help exporters and importers 'Get Brexit Ready'.  We offer a free online Brexit Readiness Assessment exclusive for exporters and importers which provides high level understanding on how 'ready' is your business for the upcoming changes.

For a more in-depth view of your business, we now offer a Brexit Compliance Audit, which looks into areas such as:

  • EORI numbers

  • Incoterms

  • Commodity codes

  • Rules of Origin

  • Logistics  - moving goods in and out of the EU

  • Customs Procedures

  • Customs & Excise Duties

  • Customs Duty Relief Schemes

  • VAT

  • Documentation requirements including customs declarations (export and imports)

  • Customs Compliance, planning and management

The Audit is carried out by one of our experts associates, and pending on availability, one of our experienced staff will also support the audit.
