Property and Construction Membership

Sector Events

At the Chamber, we run a range of events designed specifically for the Property & Construction sector, from topical property events to informal breakfasts/lunches for construction companies and the entire supply chain. In addition, we regularly host engaging round-tables focusing on specific issues within the sector.

  • Property & Construction Lunches - Networking and exhibition lunches for the industry with between 150 and 200 representatives that stretch throughout the entire supply chain.

  • Construction Clubs - Events run by the Chamber and Local Authorities to help private sector businesses across Greater Manchester benefit from live construction opportunities.

  • The Construction Summit - An annual conference bringing together representatives from across the industry (both academic and private/public sector) with key speakers discussing the latest issues affecting the sector. Attracting around 500 delegates, the summit is intended to drive positive change within the built environment. Past themes have included: Economy of the North; Connectivity; and Women in Property and Construction.

  • The Property & Construction Annual Dinner - A prestigious black-tie event, revealing the winners of both the Greater Manchester Building of the Year award and the Steve Burne Apprentice of the Year award. This event attracts over 350 delegates each year and is a great opportunity to celebrate the work of the sector throughout the year, entertain clients and network in a relaxed environment.

  • MIPIM Review - We cover the bigger issues, deals and announcements made during the annual event in Cannes to fill the gaps for anyone who couldn’t attend and provide a discussion forum for those who did.

  • Meet the Buyer – Run across the year for large contractors wishing to engage with the supply chain, these events showcase new projects around Greater Manchester and present packages available for tender.

  • Property & Construction Seminars - Round-table discussions concentrating on sector specific issues, to drive activity and focus forward within the industry.

We also run specialist events throughout the year to brief the sector on new developments or particular projects.

Our members can access all of our Property and Construction events at a discounted rate and are the first to access new events and opportunities. To book on to any of our P&C events, please visit our events page.

Construction Pipeline Analysis

The Construction Pipeline Analysis is a ground-breaking piece of work which is carried out by the Chamber periodically to reflect the development of the construction sector. It contains research which outlines the billions of pounds of planned construction work across GM and the wider North West. Detailing what projects are planned, who is delivering them, and what skills are required, the piece analyses the gaps and how best to fill them.

If you would like to obtain a copy of the latest pipeline analysis, then please contact your account manager at the Chamber.

Property & Construction Group

Our P&C committee is a steering group made up of business leaders within GM and influential local people within the sector. We work together to look at the wider activity within property and construction and use it to inform our practices, research, campaigns and events.

If you work in the sector and would like to be involved, please contact our sector lead, Diane Elebert-Morgan.

P&C Partners/Patrons

We work closely with a number of patrons and partners within the Property & Construction sector, who help to bring their specialist knowledge and industry experience to raise awareness and drive change within the sector. If you would like to find out more about these opportunities, contact our Head of Patron Development, Lucy Mulligan. Our current P&C Patrons and Partners are as follows:

Cementation Skanska is an internationally recognised specialist piling and ground engineering contractor, which has worked on over 150 building and infrastructure projects across Greater Manchester in the last 25 years.

The Wates Group is one of the largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies in the UK, working with over 10,000 supply-chain operatives and partners.

Laing O’Rourke is an international engineering enterprise which funds, designs, manufactures, constructs and maintains built environments. The global company has been responsible for some of the most iconic buildings in the world and has years of experience to offer.
