A wide range of key business issues were discussed at the Chamber’s Winter Assembly on Friday (25th January).
Following a welcome from Chamber President Jane Boardman, assembly members heard a presentation from Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) about its plans to tackle congestion with a Flexible Working Campaign. The presentation highlighted how changes to working times could help reduce rush hour traffic. You can read more about the presentation here.
Joy Sewart, Director of Skills Development & Social Enterprise at Greater Manchester Chamber, spoke about the Chamber’s Future of Skills Campaign and Skills Survey.
Alex Davies, Research Analyst at the Chamber, gave an update on Brexit and the risk of the UK leaving without a deal.
Chris Fletcher, Marketing & Campaigns Director at the Chamber, gave updates on a number of Greater Manchester issues, including the GM Spatial Framework, GM Employment Charter, Local Industrial Strategy and the 2020 Mayoral Election.
The release of the latest draft of the spatial framework was a priority set by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and the document which sets out the future blueprint for Greater Manchester is currently out for consultation.
