IMPORTANT NOTICE

GREATER MANCHESTER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EXPORT DOCUMENTATION CLIENTS

VIRTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICES HOURS FOR DOCUMENTATION SERVICES

Our advice telephone lines for the Export Documentation Dept are: 0161 393 4314/13/12 and Airport Office:  0161 489 3170, staffed between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00p.m, 

Due to the large volumes of calls we may experience; we encourage you to email us on exportdocs@gmchamber.co.uk. We will endeavour to reply to you as soon as we can, although there could be some delays in some cases.

COUNTER, DROP OFF AND COLLECTION FOR EXPORT DOCUMENTATION SERVICES

As the government have now relaxed lockdown measures, we are now able to offer extended working hours for our export documentation services  from both of our offices as follows:

Elliot House Office - From 14th September 2021

Opening Hours for collection and deliveries:

TUESDAY / WEDNESDAY / THURSDAY

10:00 a.m. - 13:00 p.m.

13:00-14:00 Closed for lunch

14:00 p.m. -16:00 p.m.

Airport Office  - From 9th August 2021 we have extended working hours as follows:

Address: GM Chamber, Room 7, Building 308, World Freight Terminal, Manchester Airport M90 5PZ.

MONDAY / TUESDAY / WEDNESDAY / THURSDAY / FRIDAY

10:00 a.m. - 13:00 p.m.

POST (VERY IMPORTANT)

Only our airport office will remain operational at this time to receive documentation via postal method including pre-signed EUR1 forms. Please note if you are posting pre-signed EUR1 forms to us please ensure that you include your account MAN or CBE reference, so we allocate it to your application.

Returned post – Our last 1st class postage will be 3.30pm anything Royal Mail Special Delivery or signed for will be posted the next day.

ELECTRONIC SERVICE

Did you know you can save up to 20 minutes per application when submitting your documents electronically? We encourage all our customers to use this as the main channel to submit all documents, especially for those companies who have been submitting manually. Whether you are a new customer or an existing one, please go to: www.ecert.sgs.com.

eCert Processing Hours

From 9th August 2021:

  • Monday to Friday - e-Cert applications will be processed up until 4pm.
  • Last 1st class postage will be 3.30pm anything RMSD or signed for will be posted the next day.

Any documents submitted after this time may only be processed the next working day.

Services offered via eCert

Express Applications

Opting for Express services will enable you to print your documents directly, saving time and money in postage. Below are the documents we can process:

  • UK (United Kingdom) Certificates of Origin
  • UK EUR1s, please note some countries currently do not accept electronic signatures so you cannot send express. Please check the list of exceptions under Standard applications below.
  • Invoices and Other Documents (e.g., packing lists) which require certification Blank Certificates - If you need blank certificates, please email our team at exportdocs@gmchamber.co.uk to order some.

There are some countries which do not accept e-signatures therefore we cannot offer express service. Check the list below:

  • Croatia
  • Egypt
  • Iceland
  • Israel
  • Lebanon
  • Liechtenstein
  • Norway
  • Serbia

The British Chambers of commerce are pressing HMRC and DIT to lead discussions with countries not currently accepting e-stamps, and as of today:

  • Switzerland, Chile, and Mexico are now temporarily accepting the use of e-stamps on EUR1s.
  • Saudi Arabia is now accepting electronic signatures of Arab Certificates of Origin.

Standard Applications

Whilst the post is operational, we will return documents by 1st class post. However, to facilitate and cut delivery times, if requested we can send documents back to you via email as scanned copies, so please make sure to request this in the notes to Chamber on your application.

PAYMENTS BY CHEQUES

Due to the lockdown measures, we kindly ask customers to avoid sending cheques via post as our finance team will not be able to process payments in this form. Therefore, please consider paying via BACS or With Credit card. To switch your payments, please email us at invoices@gmchamber.co.uk

OTHER INTERNATIONAL TRADE SERVICES

Elliot House - From 8th September 2021

Our Trade Team will be available for general trade queries and customs declaration services from 10:00 a.m. till 16:00 p.m. every day.   Please take a note that Documentation Services Counter will only operate at EH Tuesdays to Thursdays as outline above.

Virtually, the whole team continues to be available from 9:00 a.m. till 17:00 p.m.
