Greater Manchester Chamber and its members won four awards at this year’s Chamber Business Awards.
The Chamber won the Excellence in International Trade Services Award, Chamber member Northcoders won both Business of the Year and Education Business Partnership and fellow member Join the Dots won High Growth Business of the Year.
Stella Bowdell, Director of Membership and Events at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is great news for our members and for Greater Manchester as a whole. It reflects the excellence of the businesses in our area, and we are all incredibly proud of that.
"This is the first time that a Greater Manchester Chamber member has won Business of the Year, so it is a great achievement for Northcoders. We’re delighted that they and Join the Dots were recognised as national winners.”
Greater Manchester Chamber was praised by the judges for aligning its international trade services and membership, making these vital services more accessible to business.
The Chamber provides over 20 international services to support members from the beginning of their export journey, right through to delivery. Investing in Chamber staff has allowed them to provide better advice on export and import issues such as customs, tariffs and rules of origin, and they deliver many of these services in-house.
Amul Batra, Director at Northcoders, said: “Winning these two awards is a fantastic achievement for the entire Northcoders team and all our students and is testament to their hard work and dedication.
“As a business, we are committed to making the tech sector accessible to everyone, to deliver a coding education like no other and to provide skilled programmers for our hiring partners. For us it’s also all about putting community at the heart of everything we do, so receiving this kind of national recognition is a fantastic end to the year.”
The Chamber Business Awards, now in its 15th year, is one of the showpiece events in the business calendar, highlighting the role of business in delivering growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities.
Earlier this year, Northcoders and Join the Dots were among five Greater Manchester Chamber members crowned winners in the North West heats of the Chamber Business Awards 2018. Join the Dots won the High Growth Business of the Year award, Kuits won the Employer of the Year award, Northcoders won the Education & Business Partnership award, Backup Northwest won the Workplace Wellbeing award and ZenOffice won the Digital Communications Campaign of the Year award.
