On Sunday 3rd December The Together Trust, a Cheadle based charity are welcoming long time supporters, Roughley's Bikers to our central office to deliver Christmas gifts for the people they support!

Roughley's have supported the Together Trust’s fundraising appeals for many years and their twice a year trip to the Together Trust is always a fantastic event.

Staff and young people from the Together Trust will be at the office in Cheadle to welcome the bikers, collect presents and take the opportunity to take some fantastic photos on the bikes decorated in Christmas decorations.

The bikers will be at arriving at 11am at the Together Trust, Schools Hill, Cheadle SK8 1JE on Sunday 3rd December.

The event is a part of the Together Trust’s Christmas appeal for 2023 ‘Together for Christmas’, collecting donations to buy Christmas essentials, toys and other goodies to give children in care, young adults and families living below the poverty line in Greater Manchester.

For families living below the poverty line and children in care, the Christmas period brings with it a great deal of uncertainty and worry, with many things that most take for granted out of reach. With recent research commissioned by county councils revealing that the number of children in care in England could reach almost 100,000 by 2025, the Together Trust’s appeal serves as a timely reminder of the support needed for many children this time of year.

"We had been struggling financially and had been receiving food packages from foodbanks, which were often quite basic. The voucher from the Together Trust made us feel special, and we were treated with discretion and dignity."

The Together Trust are appealing for donations to allow them to buy toys and gifts to give to the people they support in time for Christmas. This means that donations are needed before the 10th December. They are also appealing for donations of unused gifts to bring some joy this Christmas; these can be donated at their offices based in Cheadle.

Natalie Essex, Fundraiser at the Together Trust said:

“The money raised from our appeal last year supported countless children, young adults and families at Christmas with toys and vouchers to give them the Christmas they deserved; this year we want to support even more. The children and families supported by our appeal often face struggles and worries at this time of year so the help provided can offer some much needed Christmas cheer. Every donation, no matter what size, means so much.”
