Stockport creative Aqua Design Group joined the social media platform in 2009 and after gaining success by winning competitions such as Theo Paphitis #SBS (Small Business Sunday and Jacqueline Gold #MOM (Men on Monday) and combined with increased networking by taking part in a variety of ‘Twitter Hours’ they gained over 10,000 followers on @AquaDesignGroup the only account they had at the time.

From this Aqua Design Group decided to create its own competition on Twitter called #QueenOf day and #KingOf day and create an account to administer the competition along with an account to promote the graphic design and printing business. Due to the success of these competitions, the new account Andy Quinn @ADG_IQ started to gain followers and within a short time had reached over 10,000 followers.

Being a sole trader, Aqua Design Group recognised the importance of having a strong a sustainable social media presence and the importance of helping fellow businesses through the follows, likes, shares and mentions have done on their other social media channels. Though Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn business pages haven’t as yet reached that of their Twitter presence, Aqua Design Group are still determined to use what they have to support.

With this in mind Aqua Design Group created #PromoteStockport a weekly networking day to promote Stockport events and businesses along with more recently #SmallBizFridayUK that was brought about due to covid-19 and seeing a need to support, promote and increase sales for small business throughout lockdowns and the tier system across the U.K.

Dylan Moore, owner of Aqua Design Group commented: “Though Twitter wasn’t the first social media platform I signed up to, I’m really pleased to have reached over 40,000 followers across my various accounts.”
