Ascroft Medical Directors have welcomed graduate, Chigo Ogbulafor, as an intern at their private medical clinic in the centre of Oldham,
Chigo (pictured) is currently studying for an MSc in Marketing with Salford Business School at the University of Salford, and to complete his studies elected to undertake an internship, as opposed to producing a dissertation. For many graduates, the work experience gained makes this is a more attractive option. The internship is being supported by Ascroft Medical and through the well-established Santander Universities Internship programme that supports those leaving university with work experience and a route into a successful career.
Adrian Roscoe, Santander Graduate Internship Manager at the University of Salford, has supported Chigo in finding his placement. The University of Salford has a longstanding relationship with Santander and is also a member and patron of Greater Manchester Chamber.
Adrian says: “We’re delighted to be able to support Ascroft Medical’s ongoing development in taking on an intern through the Santander Graduate Internship programme. Especially in these difficult times it’s reassuring to know that businesses such as Ascroft Medical recognise the contribution graduates can make to their business and future success.”
Joint Director and Practice Manager at Ascroft Medical, Krzysztof Zemlik says: “We are pleased that Ascroft Medical could become a participant business in the University of Salford and Santander partnership by giving our support to a graduate. Chigo has rapidly become part of our team and this enables ourselves and Chigo to benefit from this short term initiative. Ascroft Medical is a fast-growing medical clinic with an ever-expanding remit and we are keen to be part of the wider community not only of Oldham, but Greater Manchester and the region.”
Chigo says: “I am a current MSc ‘Digital Marketing' student with 5 years of experience working full time with a professional marketing company. My internship with Ascroft Medical enables me to utilise my current analytical skills and knowledge and help me to further develop these skills in a practical and fast-paced environment. I am enjoying my time at Ascroft Medical; it is a nice environment to be in, the staff is very friendly and ready to help.”
