Families and Babies Breastfeeding Support Service (FAB) announced that after eleven successful years in Wakefield City Centre, they have moved to new premises in The Ridings 31 All Saints Walk, Wakefield.
The celebration event took place at the new Play Den in the Ridings and the Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield, Councillor Kevin Barker and Mrs Kirsty Barker were in attendance to mark the occasion and to meet many of the families who joined the celebrations.
As part of the move FAB are aiming to further develop their community work, including promoting the Wakefield Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme.
Chair of Families and Babies, Elaine Edwards, said: “We are all really excited about the move to The Ridings and we look forward to providing even more services to the families of Wakefield.
"We are extremely grateful to the Mayor of Wakefield for his support as he celebrated with us in the summer when Wakefield Council continued their selection of FAB to provide Breastfeeding Promotion and Peer Support Services to families across the district and now we are celebrating this momentous move to The Ridings.”
The Ridings’ Centre Director Lee Appleton, said: “FAB offers a wealth of support and information for parents and we’re delighted they’ve chosen The Ridings as their base, especially since we’ve also improved our offer for families through new facilities and the launch of our Kids Club. Our position at the heart of Wakefield means the new FAB centre is easily accessible for families and the services will benefit our shoppers with babies too.”
