The Great Manchester Run is just around the corner as its just under three weeks until the Great Manchester 10k and Half Marathon return to the city’s streets for an action-packed celebration of running on Sunday 26 September.

Renowned for being the UK’s biggest 10k and the Mancunian spirit cheering you on from start to finish, it is always a very special date to note. The ENGIE Business Challenge is a key component of the Great Manchester Run which has become an annual fixture in the calendar. Bringing together the city’s thriving business community, the ENGIE Business Challenge provides an all-important team-building activity which encourages a healthy outlook for staff whilst raising money for incredible charities.

With a host of non-stop on-course entertainment and special guest appearances, the Great Manchester Run is an eagerly anticipated date in the diary. Here is a lowdown on everything you’ll experience at this year’s Great Manchester Run and why it is a date that your company will not want to miss.

This year’s route showcases some of Manchester’s most famous landmarks as 15,000 runners will line the start on Portland Street to set off on a picturesque running tour of the city. Passing the iconic Manchester football stadiums, award-winning Imperial War Museum at Salford Quays, and the legendary cobbles of Coronation Street’s new set, you will see all the best bits of Manchester on your run! Famous for its buzzing atmosphere, cheering crowds along the route will be in spurring you on all the way and see you across the finish line on Deansgate. Notorious for being a fast and flat route, the Great Manchester Run offers a great opportunity for your team to achieve a mightily impressive time to earn unbeatable bragging rights.
Be prepared to be entertained from start to finish as the Great Manchester run brings back the party. Local musicians across the region, high-tempo Beats Boost and Hacienda zones, and the infamous Hits Radio team will be there to provide motivation every step of the way. With our entertainment zones putting that extra spring into your run, you’ll be bopping, singing and clapping to the beat for a running experience you’ll likely never forget.

The greatest reward in completing the challenge is the special sense of achievement as you cross the finish line on Deansgate.
