Market Place is delighted to announce that Paul Ogden, a Security Guard at the Centre, last night won the REVO ACE Star award at the 2019 REVO ACE Awards, which recognises outstanding achievement in customer experience in the retail industry. The awards set best practice benchmarks across the industry, driving up customer experience standards across the UK.

Paul Ogden achieved an outstanding 100% in the ‘secret shop’ judging element of the REVO ACE awards, where he was found to be keen to help, enthusiastic about the centre, warm, friendly and knowledgeable – going out of his way to assist the ‘customer’ and recommend a number of solutions to their query, with a great deal of information and personal detail, which demonstrated a great level of care to the ‘customer’.

Paul is a truly outstanding member of the security team at Market Place. He recently achieved the Learning Curve CACHE Level 2 certification in awareness of mental health problems. He is now a qualified Mental Health First Aider and is qualified to help individuals suffering mental distress in the same way a regular qualified first aider can help those with symptoms of physical illness or injury. He has subsequently helped other Westgrove Group colleagues at the centre through the programme too, often in his own time. Market Place is one of the first retail and leisure destinations in the UK to have a qualified Mental Health First Aider and pride themselves on their high level of customer service.

All security at Market Place is managed by the award winning Westgrove Group.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place, said: “This is an incredible achievement. Competition was fierce to win this award and to be crowned overall winner is so well deserved. Paul is an extremely highly regarded member of the team here at Market Place – a lovely person all round and incredible at his job. Very well done.”
