Bolton-based insurance broker Stanmore, who insure more than 1,800 nurseries around the country (around 13% of the UK’s nurseries) through its dot2dot nursery scheme, says the win of a prestigious national industry award is recognition of the exceptional customer service it provides – with a 94% customer retention rate - and which will help it increase its market share even further in 2018.
Stanmore won ‘Schemes Broker of the Year’ at the prestigious Insurance Times Awards which took place at the 02 in London on Thursday, beating 11 other big industry names to the prize.
In particular, Stanmore was praised for the customer service it provides for nursery owners through its dot2dot scheme. In summing up the judges for the awards said “Operating in a competitive market, Stanmore managed to retain 94% of its clients and grew its book of business significantly. The business operates in partnership with its clients and has forged a series of third party relationships to truly help and assist their customers. The judges were impressed by the passion of the presentation and how the broker uses blogs and online content to provide a consultation on risk to their clients.”
The scheme, first set up by Director Jackie Hyde 14 years ago and refined and improved ever since then, helps take the worry out of running a nursery.
“I like to think we find solutions to the issues that keep our nursery owners up at night. We’re always there to help and if we don’t know the answer, we find someone who does."
Not only does dot2dot provide insurance cover, it also offers access to added support and many extra solutions that nursery providers might find they need - including specialist legal advice and support if a safeguarding allegation is made. Their network of partners have been specially selected by dot2dot to not only allay the fears and concerns of the nursery owners, but also to help reduce the instance of claims - protecting both the nursery business and the children they care for. Each nursery is allocated a dedicated account manager to ensure they receive the personalised support they need.
“We are so proud to have won this prestigious award which is testament to the exceptional customer service we offer to each and every one of our customers the mix of support and expertise we and our customers have access to is what really makes us different,” says Jackie.
Sue Jones, Founder of Evolution Childcare is one of the nursery owners who has helped give Stanmore one of the best customer retention rates in the insurance industry – with a stunning 94% customer retention rate. Evolution first started working with Stanmore 18 years ago and from those early days with just one nursery Evolution now operates 12 nurseries in the UK, six nurseries in Abu Dhabi and two nurseries in Bahrain. And Evolution’s relationship with Stanmore has deepened as the business has developed. Says Sue: “Together we have been through everything from safeguarding to meningitis. Without Stanmore by my side with their exceptional support, guidance and protection, I honestly don’t think I could do the job I do, and certainly I wouldn’t be able to protect my staff adequately to let them do theirs.”
Stanmore Insurance Brokers employs 22 members of staff and is based in Little Lever, Bolton. The business was formed in 1962 and continues to go from strength to strength. “It’s a fantastic end to the year” concluded Jackie.
