Fatima Haissatou Lo, a travel and tourism student at Tameside College, is ‘flying high’ after being offered a job at leading airline, Thomas Cook.
After completing her level two course with the college, she has been offered a role as a cabin crew member on long haul flights after impressing staff at the airline.
Fatima (pictured) will also be taking part in an exciting five week training programme with Thomas Cook to prepare her for the post.
Leaving Italy to come to the UK, Fatima chose to study at Tameside College because of the college’s facilities and the quality of teaching on the course.
She said: “The teachers at Tameside College provide great tuition and have a real passion for the industry. The facilities are also great. I am really pleased to have been offered this job and I think that my time with the college has helped me achieve this. I can’t wait to start flying.”
Ruth David, teacher in travel and tourism at Tameside College, said: “Fatima is a fantastic student and is a real go-getter. The fact that she’s got a job with such a prestigious airline shows that she is determined to be the best and she has inspired others to think in the same way. I can’t wait to see how well she does in her future career.”
