TechATP has become a Strategic Partner of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
UK Digital Skills Taskforce published a report ‘Digital Skills for Tomorrow’s World’ which highlighted that Britain faces a growing shortage of digital skills, whilst stereotypical perceptions of technology careers prevent many students from continuing into the digital industries.
TechATP was formed to help address this digital skills shortage through collaboration with Microsoft and TechATP’s industry expertise to create a centre of excellence for IT in each LEP area. These centres will be formed in partnership with an FE partner to develop the route from education into employment.
TechATP bridges the gap between industry and education by enhancing the skills of the lecturers, producing a collaborative delivery model for apprenticeships to form a direct route for full time learners into apprenticeships within the local region.
Chris Clifford, Director, TechATP, said: “TechATP are passionate about supporting business with digital skills, specifically Microsoft Technologies. Digital Skills are fundamental in today’s society, not only as citizen but just so in business.
“In fact, the UK government has placed digital skills as just as important as maths and English for our education system. This is why TechATP has partnered with Greater Manchester Chamber to offer a range of courses to support business and members from free introductory courses to Microsoft technical certification.”
