The Thai Ambassador met Chamber staff on Monday to discuss trade opportunities for British businesses in Thailand.
His Excellency Mr Pisanu Suvanajata was accompanied by representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy in London and Thai Airways.
The meeting focused on Thailand’s new Eastern Economic Corridor and the opportunities it offers UK companies in the following 10 hi-tech industries:
- Medical & Health
Political changes in Thailand and the ease of doing business there were highlighted during the meeting. Plans to launch a twice-weekly direct flight between Manchester and Bangkok were also discussed.
As well as the Ambassador, the delegation included Piyapathu Ruktanonchai (First Secretary) and Nareeta Supradist (Counsellor), who are both based at the Royal Thai Embassy in London, and Rithavee Plikarnon, Assistant General Manager, UK & Ireland, Thai Airways. They met Chamber Chief Executive, Clive Memmott, Susana Córdoba, Head of International Trade, and Amy Cawley, International Trade Coordinator.
