Why should you be doing business in the Netherlands?

The Netherlands is renowned for its quality of life and beautiful landscapes. 

Forbes has ranked the Netherlands third in its list “Global Business” for 2018 and it is not by sheer luck that the Netherlands have ranked so high.

Take a look at the reasons you should invest in the Netherlands:

  • Infrastructure

The Netherlands are home to one of the best infrastructures in the world. It is a gateway into the European market and holds the major port: Rotterdam, where most imports would arrive to.         
The major cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht are all within a one-hour trip to each to each other. These cities account for 7 to 15 million European customers.

  • Economy

The economy there is very open to global trade and investment and business friendly. It is ranked 13th for economic freedom in 2019.         
It is also ranked 7th when it comes to “Best country for doing business” (Forbes, 2016).    
The GDP per capita is one of the highest in the world meaning, most inhabitant have a good spending power compared to anywhere else in Europe.

  • Workforce

The reputation of the Dutch workforce is undisputable. Skilled, Productive, multilingual, long is the list of adjectives to qualify it.             
Outranking competitors, Netherlands’ labor market makes the difference: high standards education and training, labor laws and commitment to IT come together to make Netherlands a paradise for those who want to start a business.

  • Tax structure

Netherlands’ has one of the most competitive corporate tax rates in Europe. The climate is highly profitable for global businesses settling here: 19% on the first €200,000 and 25% for taxable profits exceeding €200,000, plus several incentives for multinational looking to set up there.   

  • Easiness to set up a business

The Dutch government puts effort into attracting foreign businesses in its territory. The Netherlands have been ranked as one of the easiest countries to start a business in (World Bank): in fact, a company can be set up in days through an online system brought up by the government!
