Introduction to Me:

As the Managing Director of Menopause Workplace Training Network, I have the pleasure of leading a vibrant training community whose shared passion is to help to make all organisations menopause friendly. I have successfully spent the last twelve years within the employment and recruitment arena; helping businesses realise growth potential through the attraction, acquisition and retention of talent. Throughout this time I developed a passion for supporting organisations to create diverse, inclusive and thriving workplace cultures where individuals can flourish. In January of 2023, I joined the extraordinary team at Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace to collaborate with them on their mission by bringing our tried, tested and trusted training to the SME community to help them build menopause friendly workplace cultures. As an organisation, we want to make menopause an inclusive subject that no one is afraid or embarrassed to talk about. We commit to helping make organisations a great place to work and giving employees the confidence to ask for help and support if they need it.

Introduction to the Business:https://menopauseintheworkplace.co.uk/

Since 2016, we’ve been supporting organisations and businesses, both across the UK and internationally, to take the mystery out of menopause at work and make it easy to introduce the right training, policies and practices in the workplace. Our mission is to make all workplaces menopause friendly by raising awareness, providing essential training and delivering education to support colleagues, leaders and teams. Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace have been changing the lived experience of those impacted by menopause at work: training thousands of organisations through our Menopause in the Workplace training, and supporting leading organisations like the NHS, BAE Systems and HSBC UK and hundreds more on their journeys to becoming menopause friendly organisations.

Here are the facts:-One in 10 women have left work because of symptoms of the menopause-25% of women going through the menopause had considered leaving work because of their experiences-Two thirds of women going through the menopause say they have no support in place at workQuite simply, menopause awareness and support in the workplace is a win-win situation for both employers and employees. Menopause education, information and guidance can be game changers for staff satisfaction and retention and creating a supportive and informed menopause culture within an organisation. Most menopause support and adjustments are small, cost effective and short term, but organisations can reap the benefits for years to come which can include:- Understanding menopause and how it can affect a woman at work. Supporting a culture of inclusivity, diversity and equality- Retaining talent, and reducing absence and sickness- Supporting line managers: helping them understand menopause, employment law and how they can support colleagues and have good conversations- Understanding best practice in this uncharted area, reducing the risk of employee relations issues or even tribunalsMenopausal women are the fastest growing workforce demographic. Therefore, putting in place the right awareness, education and support is good for colleagues and also good for an organisation’s bottom-line.
