At the Chamber, we have some remarkable women in our Senior Management Team. For #InternationalWomensDay, they're giving a quote on their journey and some advice, take a look below.

Reet Sercombe, Head of Membership & Events

"Embrace every challenge as an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and grow both personally and professionally. Leadership to me is about bringing those around you, with you on the journey, perseverance, and resilience. On this International Women’s Day, let’s #inspireinclusion to help forge a more inclusive world for women."

Lucy Mulligan, Head of Marketing

"I started my journey with the Chamber at the age of 21 and over the course of my career, several invaluable lessons have influenced my progression. First and foremost, embrace the power of learning —never shy away from asking questions, shadowing peers, and committing to continuous self-development.

Secondly, don't passively await opportunities; actively seek them out and seize them. Your trajectory is not shaped by waiting, but by actively improving your surroundings, processes and how you deliver your role. Take charge of your progression by seeking ways to enhance the business around you.

Lastly, champion the empowerment of one another. Share praise for great ideas. Leadership is not demonstrated through words; more through actions. Encouragement, empowerment, and action should go hand in hand."

Susana Cordoba, Head of International Trade

"Having worked all my life in the arena of International Trade, I find women who want to get ahead in their careers in the field, one of the most important qualities is to be able to adapt quickly to change and adapt your services and the way you deliver these to your customers. Technical knowledge is also important of course, although having the ability to anticipate market trends, work collaboratively with customers, partners and stakeholders and a genuine desire to help others to thrive, are key to success."
