Tariffs Update
As US Trade Policy continues to shift causing uncertainty in global markets, this page will be regularly updated with the latest news.
Here are some of the key announcements made in recent months:
President Trump’s sweeping “reciprocal trade” policy came into effect on 1st August. More than 90 countries have been affected, with Canada and Brazil both facing increased tariffs but tariffs on Mexico were paused for 90 days.
A Trade Agreement with the EU was announced in July that will cut tariffs down to 15% on imports from the EU whilst US exports will be tariff-free.
The US-UK Economic Prosperity Landmark Deal was announced in May. A central feature of the agreement is the substantial reduction of tariffs on key British export to the US such as cars. You can read more about the deal here.
