Policy & Campaigns
Greater Manchester Chamber has been representing businesses for over 230 years, and counting.
We work with our members to campaign on a wide range of policy issues that affect businesses, their workforce and the wider communities in Greater Manchester. As a leading, independent, representation body, it is vital that we accurately represent the collective voice of business.
Following the 2024 General Election, the Labour government set out a series of measures outlining its plans for growth - including a new Industrial Strategy, new proposals for employment laws and more devolved powers. This is coupled with the Integrated Settlement awarded through devolution, which promises more local control and more spending power locally. The Chamber plays a critical role in assessing what all this means for business, and more importantly, where the gaps are that need to be addressed.
There are a number of different routes to feed into policy and campaign work, including Chamber Assembly, our Campaign for Business, the GM Local Skills Improvement Plan and more.
