ATA Carnets
About ATA Carnets
An ATA Carnet is a customs document that permits the duty-free and tax-free movement of goods for up to one year.
Greater Manchester Chamber is an authorised UK agent to issue ATA Carnets. ATA Carnets are known as your passport for goods, enabling traders to export/import goods on a temporary basis simplifying customs formalities by using one single document.
These documents are accepted by customs authorities in countries who are part of the ATA Carnet System (80 countries).
Since Brexit, traders may now need ATA Carnets when travelling to the EU with goods they intend to bring back to the UK.
