Business Finance Solutions is a Government-backed, Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI). Established in 2002 it has a strong history in providing technical support and alternative business finance across the North West to Entrepreneurs who wish to start & grow their businesses.

As part of the Government’s Solutions for Business Services, BFS has a range of affordable business loans and services delivered on behalf on the Department for Business innovation & Skills (DBIS) by a team of experienced lending professionals. Business Finance Solutions has sanctioned over £6million in business loans to individuals, partnerships and companies across the Manchester Central, Manchester South and Cheshire regions whose businesses are unable to access mainstream finance.

As well as having a portfolio of business loans, the BFS wider services include delivering the North West Access to Finance service (A2F) offering specialist financial advice and support to SMEs across the entire North West and the North West Business Angels (NWBA); which helps to support entrepreneurs in addressing the finance gap by improving availability of informal ‘Angel’ equity in the region with investments typically ranging from £10,000 to £500,000

Recently BFS was awarded the DWP contract for the NEA Loan service across the Northwest region (excluding Merseyside), for individuals who are currently receiving Job Seekers allowance and who wish to start their own business.
