EML celebrating 40 years

This year, EML proudly celebrates its 40th birthday and we’re marking the milestone with a special event in support of Dave Day, a charity in memory of the late Dave Myers, beloved TV chef and one half of the Hairy Bikers.

Our very own Adelle Hutton, HR Consultant and dedicated Dave Day volunteer, is organising a charity football match in aid of NSPCC Childline (which was Dave’s charity). The match will see Dave’s Gold Stars (AKA The Hairy Strikers) take on Team EML on Saturday 11 April at Bamber Bridge FC, kicking off at 2:00pm. Celebrations and fundraising will continue into the evening with a hot buffet and entertainment in the club lounge, including Tony Green, ex-professional footballer as our after-dinner speaker and Liliana Myers, Dave's wife.

A little bit about Dave’s Gold Stars…

As part of Dave Day 2025, Adelle was asked to organise a team to play a charity match against former professionals. Dave’s Gold Stars was born and raised over £18,000 in the process. What was intended as a one-off fixture quickly became something much bigger as Dave's Gold Stars (featuring our own Chris Nagel), now compete throughout the year, raising funds for charity. Adelle has since taken on the role of chairperson, leading the team in their Hawaiian-style EML sponsored shirts.

As part of our birthday celebrations, we are looking to our clients, suppliers and wider network to help us raise £15,000 for NSPCC Childline. There are lots of ways to get involved, big and small, from sponsoring a player to pitch-side advertising or donating raffle prizes. Find out how you can get involved here: EML's Charity Football Match.
