The Restructuring and Insolvency team at leading law firm Freeths has once again been recognised as the UK’s top-performing insolvency practice, securing the number one position in Solomonic’s newly released Year in Review 2025.

According to the latest analysis from litigation data and analytics platform Solomonic, Freeths issued 548 claims in the Insolvency & Companies List during 2025, more than double the number recorded by the second-ranked firm, which issued 231 claims. This places the firm significantly ahead of all other competitors and highlights the scale of the team’s activity this year.

In 2024, Freeths issued 402 claims, confirming its first-place position in Solomonic’s High Court Review for the second consecutive year. Earlier editions of the review recorded 365 claims in 2023 and 358 claims within the High Court Review (2023).

These year-on-year results reflect not only sustained growth but also the consistently high level of performance that has cemented Freeths at the top of the national insolvency tables.

Commenting on the team’s success, National Head of Insolvency at Freeths Graeme Danby said: “Being ranked number one for several years in a row says a great deal about the strength of our team, the trust of our clients, and the consistently high standards we set ourselves as a national practice. I’m genuinely proud of what the team delivers.

“We continue to invest strategically in the practice and have the depth and capacity to support new matters where we can add real value.”

Freeths’ continued success in the Solomonic rankings reinforces the strength of its national Restructuring and Insolvency offering, combining specialist knowledge with broad experience advising insolvency practitioners, lenders, corporates, creditors and other stakeholders across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
