Processing Trade Documentation - Express v Standard

Official Chamber Post

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce's Export Documentation use an online platform called eCert to manage the processing of trade documentation, including UK EUR1 certificates, UK Certificates of Origin, and Chamber Certifications.

When submitting your application through eCert, you can choose between Express and Standard processing, but what's the difference?

Express Applications

  • Once approved, documents are printed by the applicant at their workplace using a colour printer.

  • The documents are electronically stamped by our office via eCert.

  • This method is typically faster, as there is no physical delivery required.

Standard Applications

  • Once approved, we print and wet-stamp the documents.

  • They can then be collected in person or posted to the applicant.

  • This option is required for certain destinations that do not accept electronically stamped documents.

Choosing the Right Option

If you are unsure which option is appropriate for your application, please check with the relevant stakeholder before submission.

Some countries and authorities do not recognise electronically stamped documentation, so Standard applications may be necessary in those cases.

By understanding the difference these two application methods, you can ensure your documentation is processed efficiently and meets the requirements of the destination country.
