As Managers and Business owners I’m sure most of you have been in the situation of onboarding an employee only to realise that they aren’t suitable for the role….. things aren’t going according to plan!

It’s a common theme I’ve seen throughout my career and sometimes people just don’t know how to go about tackling it and end up leaving things as they are which can be detrimental for all involved.

If there is one piece of advice I would offer, it’s to take action, as soon as things crop up. If you aren’t happy with someone’s performance or outputs you need to address it with them immediately. All too often I’ve seen Managers and Business owners leave things for too long hoping it will sort it’s self out, it rarely does, and then it becomes an ongoing problem and much more difficult to address.

Process and procedure is key in these circumstances to address any concerns in writing with agreed follow up and expectations. If this doesn’t happen it leaves you wide open to criticism and potential complaints when it gets to the point of no return, which you want to avoid.

I can talk you through the right steps and processes to follow to get it right and avoid any unnecessary issues. Please reach out if you would like more information, all initial advice is free.
