Location: Centre for Advanced Manufacturing, University of Bolton
The Centre for Advanced Manufacturing (CfAM) at the University of Greater Manchester is pleased to announce a special member offer in partnership with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce for its upcoming Additive Manufacturing Technology Overview CPD course, taking place on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025.
This IOM3-approved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course provides a practical introduction to additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and their application in modern business and production environments. Participants will explore the fundamentals of polymer and metal AM processes, gain hands-on experience with 3D printing equipment, and learn how to evaluate AM technologies for design, prototyping, and production.
Delivered in-person at CfAM’s state-of-the-art facilities, the course offers a full walkthrough of the AM workflow, from CAD and material selection to print preparation and post-processing, with live demonstrations and industrial case studies.
To support local businesses, Greater Manchester Chamber members can access an exclusive discounted rate of £99 (standard price £225).
This initiative aims to make advanced manufacturing knowledge more accessible to SMEs and help the region’s engineering and manufacturing community upskill staff, explore innovation opportunities, and build resilience through technology adoption.
As part of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) approval, this CPD course meets national standards for technical quality, industry relevance, and recognised professional development, supporting both individual learning and organisational growth.
The course is approved by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).
