Counter - the consultancy brand from Northcoders – has secured a new engagement with BigChange which is a leading global provider of business management software.
The scope of work, which is expected to last 12 months, will see Counter assemble a five-strong team of technologists who will help BigChange develop their mobile engineering solutions. The team will be made up of two mid-level and two associate-level developers who will work alongside a Counter tech lead.
Headquartered in Leeds, and founded in 2013, BigChange is a pioneering provider of software solutions for trades and field service professionals across multiple industries. It combines innovative software and hardware, with intelligent AI features, which empower businesses to simplify operations, scale seamlessly, and achieve extraordinary results.
BigChange has a strong focus on the UK market. It serves over 2,400 customers who have collectively tracked over 4.4 billion miles, completed 78 million jobs, and processed over £3.3 billion in invoices. The company was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation, and has featured multiple times on the prestigious Sunday Times Tech Track 100. It has a record of driving growth and efficiency, and continues to transform how businesses operate.
Counter specialises in assembling and landing UK-based teams of technologists into clients, building dedicated teams that align technically and culturally with clients’ long-term goals. Counter is challenging the traditional tech consultancy sector by offering a different approach underpinned by an efficient and scalable business model based on 100% utilisation rates for its Counter consultants.
Counter’s consultants have either completed Northcoders’ training and are proficient in modern cloud and software solutions, including AI/ML development, data and cloud engineering or are part of the Tech Returners network. The consultancy’s robust model ensures that at the end of each engagement, clients have the option to onboard the consultants as full-time employees, at no additional cost, reinforcing skill retention and continuity.
Amul Batra, MD of Counter, said: “Demand for our services keeps growing as more private and public sector organisations realise how simple and effective our consultancy model is, and the difference our teams make through true collaboration and integration. This new partnership with BigChange highlights both the talents of our consultants and our dedication to tackling technology challenges head-on.”
Nick Payne, Director of Engineering, at BigChange, said: “We are eager to see the value, expertise and experience that Counter’s technologists will add to this project. From our first meeting, we felt Counter’s collaborative approach and dedication to understanding our organisational culture made them a strong partner for BigChange.”
