A veteran-founded cyber security company is celebrating a year of rapid growth as it expands its client base, scales its operations across the UK and develops new AI-powered services to support businesses of every size.

Manchester-based Aruga Cyber has developed AI-powered automation technology that delivers real-time cyber defence and contains threats in just 60 seconds. This breakthrough approach is helping organisations achieve enterprise-grade protection without the cost or complexity of building their own Security Operations Centre (SOC).

Headquartered at the Greater Manchester Digital Security Hub (DiSH), with a new office in Luton, Bedfordshire, Aruga has grown to a team of six in its second year of trading.

Over the past 12 months, the company has expanded its client base by delivering fully managed SOC services to more than 10 enterprise organisations. It has also launched its Threat Exposure Management service to improve visibility of emerging risks, created SOC services tailored specifically for SMEs, and grown its partnership programme to deliver white-labelled services through IT providers, cyber security consultancies and resellers.

Founded in 2024 by David Taylor, a former Royal Navy submariner with more than 20 years’ experience in defence and cyber operations, and ex-British Army co-founder Daniel Long, Aruga Cyber has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s most innovative SOC providers.

The company was recently part of the Greater Manchester delegation that welcomed the Japanese ambassador to the UK as the city signed a formal Sister City Agreement with Osaka, further underlining its role in the region’s growing tech ecosystem.

As part of its next phase of growth, Aruga will launch its free Cyber Compass gap analysis tool, enabling businesses to complete a cyber resilience evaluation through its bespoke platform and receive a tailored threat report instantly. Traditionally, a process costing thousands of pounds and requiring days of expert analysis, Aruga has simplified it into a free, AI-powered service accessible to all organisations.

David Taylor, Managing Director of Aruga Cyber, said: “The past year has been transformational for Aruga Cyber, and we’re now on track to double revenue in the next 12 months. We’ve shown that real-time, enterprise-grade cyber defence doesn’t need to come with enterprise-level cost or complexity.

“Cyber security shouldn’t be a luxury reserved for big corporations. Our free Cyber Compass is designed to level the playing field, enabling businesses of all sizes to understand and mitigate their risks. Drawing from our military background of protecting and serving, our mission is to democratise cyber security and give every organisation the tools to defend itself in today’s fast-changing digital world.”
