Greater Manchester has signed a Sister City Agreement with Osaka aimed at promoting further collaboration and cooperation with the Japanese city in trade, innovation, education, tourism and culture.
The agreement comes as research from MIDAS shows Japanese companies have invested nearly £118m in Greater Manchester over the last year.
A £250m investment in a state-of-the-art data centre in Salford has been approved.
The Greater Manchester Visitor Economy Accelerator Programme will be expanding its support to deliver sessions to local businesses in Stockport, Oldham, and Tameside this September.
