Over the past decade, the business landscape has been shaped by extraordinary challenges. From Brexit’s impact on trade and opportunity, to the global pandemic that disrupted our communities and economies, and more recently, the ‘cost of doing business’ crisis driven by inflation and rising interest rates - it’s been anything but plain sailing. Yet, through these trials, the business community has shown remarkable resilience.

As you’ll be aware, a newly formed organisation is here to continue the core duties of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. A step taken, in response to the challenges above, to secure a sustainable future for the operations of this region’s Chamber.

While the business may be new, the team delivering services remains the same, familiar faces committed to supporting your business. In fact, our renewed structure allows us to sharpen our focus and develop the quality of support and services we provide.

Sarah Blatch, Finance Director, said: "It’s important that we move forward with a growth mindset, offering members practical support, meaningful influence and real opportunities to scale."

Chris Fletcher, Policy Director, said: "Businesses constantly face challenges and one of the core services of a Chamber is to be that voice of business to key decision makers to help get the right environment for growth. As we move forward, we’re committed to strengthening this advocacy and doing it more effectively than ever before. We’ll also be encouraging our members to play an active role - not only in shaping business priorities but in helping guide the Chamber’s evolution and future direction."

Lucy Mulligan, Marketing Director, added: "The business community deserves services and initiatives that drive growth, productivity, and efficiency. The Chamber is evolving to meet these needs, building on 230 years of experience while moving forward with innovation, agility and ambition."

Now is the time for the Chamber to reaffirm its purpose: supporting businesses, delivering international trade services, influencing policy, and promoting economic growth across Greater Manchester. Together, we’re ready to shape the next chapter of Greater Manchester’s business success. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for announcements of a new website, a new Members’ Lounge and even more opportunities for your business.
