Lee Spring have been manufacturing stock and custom made springs, formed metal parts and related products for a wide range of industries since 1918. We offer a range of 25,000 stock springs available for same day shipping, with a global customer base. Lee Spring have been established in Wokingham, United Kingdom since the 1970’s and are part of a global family of sites in the United States, China, India, Mexico and Germany. In 2019, Lee Spring Limited acquired Longcroft Engineering, a custom spring manufacture business to further extend their reach within the engineering sector.

In 2024 Lee Spring Limited made the decision to merge the manufacturing and distribution teams under one roof. Already having a skilled, helpful and efficient Customer Service based in Wokingham, Lee Spring retained this talent in a Wokingham based office. Drawing on the rich history of spring making in the region, Rochdale was chosen as the town to base Lee Spring Limited for the future Manufacturing, Distribution, Accounts, Sales and Engineering operations, making the Rochdale site the head office. A great deal of time, effort and over £1 million of investment was spent developing the chosen site into a spring making facility for the future. This involves lean manufacturing to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.

As part of this journey, Lee Spring has brought a great deal of innovation and investment into the area. This has included investing in three state of the art Hanel Lean Lifts, designed to house stock that would previously been kept in a space totaling 1860 sq m. The Lean Lifts total only 240 sq m, leaving space within the building for investment in custom spring making machinery. The Lifts are stand out machines, and provide a clean, efficient warehousing solution for high volume distribution, aimed to support our same day shipping model.

The move into Rochdale has also prompted a recruitment drive and created ten jobs for people living within the Rochdale area. Roles recruited for include Manufacturing, Distribution and Administration. As part of the recruitment drive, Lee Spring are developing an Apprenticeship program. Apprentices with us are studying for Engineering and Business Administration qualifications, supported by learning at Rochdale Training Association. Lee Spring are championing spring making of the future, and the Apprenticeship Program is a big part of this; supporting our young people and equipping them with skills essential in their careers.

Conscious of our carbon foot print, and further demonstrative of Lee Spring’s determination to invest in innovation, solar panels have been installed on the roof of the building. Further to this, Lee Spring have recently switched courier service, favouring DPD partly because of their carbon neutral aims. DPD’s electric fleet is currently 37% of its total vehicles, with a CO2 saving of 6128 tons for 2025.

Lee Spring are excited for the future, and to contribute to the local economy, environment and culture. This includes Rochdale, and Greater Manchester, as well as others.
