Hive Minds is a new, thought-leadership event brought to you by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Borne from an affinity of discussion and debate, Hive Minds seeks to bring the people of Greater Manchester together to pause and consider the ways in which our minds impact our everyday actions. We’ve lined up three remarkable speakers to deliver an educational and inspiring talk that will equip you with new stories, tools, and mental models that are designed to deliver a fresh perspective on a specific theme.
The theme for this Hive Minds event will be ‘Performance’. How can we as individuals, and team members, perform better, under pressure, and when the odds are stacked against us? This edition is therefore titled ‘Hive Minds: Dig Deep’. Learn the intricacies of elite performance from three individuals, well-learned and experienced in three quite different fields of expertise. An athlete will walk us through the lived experience of what it takes to perform facing intense competition, maintaining rigorous discipline, and pushing themselves to their absolute limit. Then delve into the mindset of performance with an investigative talk delivered by an experienced Chartered Psychologist. Finally, realise how much loss can be sustained, and still fail to prevent one inspiring individual from going forward and succeeding, despite the significant challenges that have been faced and overcome.

Andy Reid MBE
A survivor, not a victim. Let him change the mindset of your employees with his powerful and inspirational presentation about self-belief. Heavily injured by Taliban improvised explosive device while on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Injured so badly that it was thought he would not survive. Defied the odds - within a month, he was able to meet up with members of his patrol again.
As a triple amputee, has since gone on to complete many arduous challenges to raise money and give back to the associations that helped him and his family through difficult times.
A warrior’s mindset, overcoming adversity, he doesn’t let the severity of his injuries stop him from going forward with a positive attitude.
Aidan Kearney
Malleable Mind founder and director, Specialising in evidence-based psychology helping individuals, teams, and organisations maximise their potential. BPS chartered coaching psychologist, RAPPS registered psychology practice supervisor, expert in high performance thinking.
Works to build and deploy coaching cultures, training staff in coaching methodologies and psychological frameworks to enable them to harness potential.
Personally trained by Professor Steve Peters in the innovative Chimp model of performance psychology.
Lectured at the University of Salford on their MBA programme, helping the business leaders of tomorrow learn to apply psychological principles to understand and mitigate decision making biases.
Mica Moore
A British women's sprinter and bobsleigher. She competed for Wales in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and competed in the 2-women bobsleigh event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, getting the best finish for British women ever. In 2022, Mica took to the front seat of a bobsleigh becoming a pilot and hopes to compete at the Milan Cortina Games in 2026.
Alongside her sporting career Mica completed a Masters in Sports Broadcasting and regularly works in the media industry, she also commentated on the 2022 Winter Olympics with Eurosport.
Mica enjoys content creation and has built a following on Tiktok of almost half a million.
