Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with WTA Group, is holding a market event focusing on China and trade opportunities for UK exporters and importers.

Commonly seen as an Import Hub thanks to its strategical position and role as a manufacturing powerhouse, China also present significant export potential for UK businesses. With the largest country in the world by population and a fast-growing business and consumer market, China's need for high quality products is growing. As of January 2024, China is the UK’s 6th largest export market for UK businesses with an estimated £37.5 billion worth of exports in 2023.

Why attend?

  • British Companies could be realising an additional $1.4tn worth of exports to China across a number of sectors.
  • According to DBT,  the top sectors for UK exports are automotive, crude oil, medicinal and pharmaceutical products and scientific equipment.
  • China is UK's 6th largest exporting market and as of 2023 Q3,  UK Exports reached £37.5bn!
  • China's geographical position offers strategic access to Asia Pacific markets.
  • Challenges remain but the environment and access for exporters to China has improved.
  • China's consumer market is one of the largest, with a population of over 1.4bn!
