Your Local President: Dr Andy Roberts

Andrew is Managing Director of Avoira Ltd, a Bury-based technology company, part of the Nycomm Group who have been members of the Chamber for over 20 years. As a former City & Guilds student, Andrew received a Highly Commended Certificate in May 2011 at a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace for outstanding contribution to Telecommunications from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh as part of the annual Prince Philip Medal awards. He received an Honorary Doctorate in Education from the University of Bolton in 2018 for his outstanding contribution to education and became an Honorary Doctor of Science at Salford University in 2019.

Andrew is Chair of Governors of Bolton College and a Governor of the University of Bolton. He is also a Director of Quest, a Multi Academy Trust, and a Trustee of the Young Persons charity. Andrew loves to encourage and champion local businesses and is Chair of Bury Business Leaders' Group. As Local Chamber President, Andrew is keen to promote the benefits of membership to Bury businesses large and small.
