Algerian Certificate of Free Marketing

The Chamber is aware that exporters are being asked to have an Algerian Certificate of Free Marketing certified by their local Chamber of Commerce. The British Chambers of Commerce suspect that this is in response to new rules introduced by the Algerian Customs Authorities.

The procedure for getting an Algerian Certificate of Free Marketing is as follows:

  • The exporter must complete the Certificate of Free Marketing on their company headed paper as per template below. No alternative wording can be used.

  • The Exporter must complete and sign the indemnity letter on their headed paper.

  • The exporter must provide evidence that the goods comply with the standards stated in the Certificate of Free Marketing. Examples of the type of acceptable evidence are ISO Certificates, CE marking compliance folders etc.

  • Should the exporter be unable to provide sufficient evidence, the Chamber reserves the right to refuse to stamp the document.

  • The exporter must provide evidence of the origin of the goods in the similar manner as applying for a certificate of origin.

  • The signatory of the certificate of Free Marketing must appear on the company’s valid Formal Undertaking held by the Chamber.

This document/ procedure cannot be used for food or agricultural products. A Government certificate should be obtained by the relevant government department if this is the case.

  • Please see a template for a Certificate of Free Marketing for Algeria here.

  • Please see a template for an Algerian Indemnity Letter here.

Before the certificate is authenticated by the Chamber you will need to ensure you have completed a Formal Undertaking which can be downloaded here. Please send completed forms to exportdocs@gmchamber.co.ukCheck our latest pricing list here

Alternatively, this can be posted to the Elliot House, 151 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3WD with the original letter and a copy of the applicant's passport in colour. The letter needs to be signed by somebody whose signature is on the Formal Undertaking.
