Following its successful 2025 launch, MAD//North will return to Manchester in 2026 with an expanded festival set to attract 6,000 senior marketers, agencies, publishers, creators and tech platforms. Taking place on 25–26 February across Aviva Studios and Versa Studios, the festival will spotlight the North of England’s role as a creative powerhouse under the theme ‘Northern Soul.’
Positioned as a festival rather than a traditional trade show, MAD//North will bring together leaders and disruptors from media, entertainment, sport, AI and technology for two days of ideas, inspiration, and collaboration. Delegates can expect to hear from iconic industry voices on how the world’s top brands are investing, innovating, and future-proofing, alongside case studies from start-ups, agencies, and platforms redefining the marketing landscape.
The first wave of speakers has also been announced, with Vicki Maguire (Havas), Kirsten Pugsley (Puma) and Eleanor Barker (PG Tips) confirmed to take the stage. They will join a roster of global marketing leaders and disruptors who will share insights into building brands that stand out, stay relevant, and shape the future.
“Northern Soul is about more than a music genre—it’s a mindset,” said Dan Brain, Co-founder of MAD//Fest and MAD//North. “The North has always danced to the beat of its own drum, producing ideas, innovation and creativity that inspire audiences worldwide. With MAD//North 2026, we want to celebrate that independent spirit while creating a platform for the industry’s brightest minds to shape what comes next.”
Celebrating Northern Creativity
The Northern Soul theme highlights the North of England’s heritage for doing things differently and its growing international reputation for bold, unconventional work. From Wigan to Warrington, Wakefield to Whitley Bay, brands and agencies across the region are producing distinctive, globally recognised campaigns that challenge norms and resonate with audiences far beyond the UK.
MAD//North will showcase this creative energy on a global stage, underlining the region’s pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing.
A Festival Atmosphere
MAD//North describes itself as “a vibrant, funky festival packed with content, community and connections.” Unlike conventional conferences, the event will feature multiple stages, immersive experiences, and networking opportunities designed to spark collaboration across industries and geographies.
Delegates will gain access to headline keynotes, innovation showcases, and sessions exploring topics from AI-powered storytelling and sport marketing to creative disruption and consumer culture. The programme aims to deliver both big-picture thinking and practical insights for brands seeking to stay ahead in a fast-changing industry.
